Ingredients:
1-Ground beef (80% lean, 20% fat is a good choice for juiciness)
2-Hamburger buns
3-Salt and pepper (to taste)
4Optional toppings: cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise
Instructions:
1-Preheat your grill or stovetop pan to medium-high heat.
2-While the grill/pan is heating up, divide the ground beef into equal-sized portions, usually around 4-6 ounces each. Gently shape each portion into a patty, being careful not to overwork the meat, as this can make it tough.
3-Season the patties with salt and pepper on both sides.
4-Once the grill/pan is hot, place the patties on it. For a stovetop pan, you might want to add a little oil or cooking spray to prevent sticking.
5-Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. Avoid pressing down on the patties with a spatula while cooking, as this can squeeze out the juices.
6-If you want to add cheese, place a slice of cheese on top of each patty about one minute before they finish cooking. Cover the pan or grill to help the cheese melt.
7-While the patties are cooking, you can lightly toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a separate pan.
8-Assemble your hamburger: Place a cooked patty on the bottom half of each bun. Add your desired toppings, such as lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, ketchup, mustard, mayo, etc.
9-Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
Enjoy your homemade hamburgers! Feel free to customize them with your favorite ingredients and toppings to suit your taste.
