Apfelstrudel is a delicious Austrian dessert that consists of a thin pastry filled with spiced apple filling. Here's a traditional recipe for making Apfelstrudel

Ingredients:

1-2-3 large apples (such as Granny Smith or Golden Delicious)

2-1/2 cup breadcrumbs

3-1/2 cup granulated sugar

4-1/2 cup raisins (optional)

5-1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

6-1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

7-1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

8-1/2 cup melted butter

9-8-10 sheets of filo pastry or strudel dough

10-Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions:

*Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

*Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples.

*In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, breadcrumbs, granulated sugar, raisins (if   using), cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg. Mix well to coat the apples evenly.

*Take a sheet of filo pastry or strudel dough and place it on a clean, dry surface. Brush the   entire sheet with melted butter.

*Repeat the process, layering the sheets of pastry and brushing each layer with melted   butter until you have 8-10 layers.

*Place the apple filling along one edge of the layered pastry, leaving a small border around   the edges.

*Carefully roll the pastry over the filling, tucking in the sides as you go, to create a log-   shaped strudel.

*Transfer the strudel to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, seam side down.

*Brush the top of the strudel with melted butter to give it a golden-brown color.

*Bake in the preheated oven for about 35-40 minutes, or until the strudel is golden and   crispy.

*Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly.

*Dust the strudel with powdered sugar before serving.

*Slice the Apfelstrudel and serve it warm with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of   vanilla ice cream.

Enjoy your homemade Apfelstrudel! It's a classic Austrian dessert that's perfect for any  occasion.
